I spent the last week in Massachusetts.  It was a sudden business trip and I had a great time.  While there I met some people on both sides of the MMO addiction.  A player and an ex Girlfriend of another player.  After spending some time with both of these people I made a decision to cut back on my own play time.  I call it trading Flesh for Fantasy.  Guess you can say there was too much Billy Idol playing at the time.

My audio issues are all but corrected but yet again I made enough progress to get out this episode.  Help will be coming in September.  I decided on the replacement I'll be getting and Brent from Virginworlds is throwing some help my way too  This is one of those perks we get if you donate.  SO DONATE!  It helps us continue to put out quality episodes.

My podcast is in a tail spin due to equipment failures and lack of finances to correct the issue.  I purchased a mixer off of Craig's List but all I got were rocks.  So I had to try to fix my mixer my self.  I mad a good effort, but it still is a bit flakey.

I have also had to install a new hard drive in my iMac... Reason Number 2 for not having funds to get a new mixer.  This went with only a few hitches.  Listen it to hear what they were.

My recording schedule is starting to solidify.  I have Rae from Epic Dolls all recorded.  This podcast should be on line by next Wednesday.

My Wish List is now the Alesis Multimix8 Firewire Mixer.  It is firewire so it should not have the static issue my USB port causes from time to time.

What I'm playing...  I discuss in short why I canceled my Age of Conan sub and why I suspended my Eve Online sub.  Too little time, too many games.

I am back in EQ2 and have joined Revelry and Honor again.  Thanks for the invite Karen.  I should be able to play that at least once a week now.

In World of Warcraft, I am having fun with my 70 Hunter in PVP Battlegrounds.  I also am loving being in the AIE guild... But, I wanted to see how things go on a different server so I spun up a new character, Sunsilk, on Perenolde and joined the Epic Dolls guild.  So far it is fun.  But I miss my lvl 70.

THe podcast has hit a major equipment malfunction.  FOr 4 years now I have owned an Alesis Multimix 8 Mixer.  It has done fine for me.  It has stood up to power surges that blew up my hard drives and only now has succumbed to a glass of water.  I am doing my best to replace it quickly, however, some unexpected auto repairs and other bills are keeping me from immediately purchasing a new one.  Podcast production will suffer in the mean time.  I think this one is what I am going to purchase.  It is the Multimix6FX.

Among other topics, World of Warcraft was the most spoken about.  Leala plays WoW and it is there that the Epic Dolls Guild resides.

In honor of Fathers day and paying homage to Tim Russert Newsman and Author, I interviewed my children for this podcast.  This got me thinking of how I can include the audience.  Please ask your friends, family and loved ones some questions about their games, record it, and send it to me at peter@theaddictedgamer.com.

I'll edit and add to the end of future podcasts.  I feel this will let me hear more of the audience then I can possibly get to in my life time.

I was joined by Luper (Magie) from Voyages of Vanguard this week,  We of course spent time speaking of Vanguard as that is Luper's Passion.

Luper plays a Blood Mage in the game and is a CoHost of the one Podcast dedicated to the game.  In addition to that she is a student and also plays in a band.  Quite the accomplishment for such a young gamer.

My weeks since the last podcast were spent in various games.  I speak of Eve Online, World of Warcraft, Vanguard, Lord of the Rings Online and Age of Conan.  So many games, so little time.  Man am I all over the place or what?!

I'm looking for more reviews.  Thank you to all of you that have taken the time to write one so far.  Please take the time to go out to iTunes and leave a review if you like the show.  Everyone helps to move our podcast up in the ranks so we can become more popular.

I spent the last two weeks trying to get Vista working on my iMac again.  No internet and I do not know why.  I guess it will be back to XP for me.

My game play included Eve on Line and World of Warcraft.  Thanks Crovan... FOR BOTH!  Seriously though.  I got back into WoW and the AIE guild run by Scott Johnson, Randy Jordon and Veronica Belmont.  They are all great Podcasters and have a wonderful guild.  I forgot what it was like to be active in a social guild.  Pretty fun, and with a guild as big as AIE... There is always something to do.

Not much else going on.  I was set to interview Joe Heart from Gax and my internet was down.  Seems every time we have really bad storms here in Georgia I can not get on the internet for 2 days reliably.

Next week I should have Luper from Voyages of Vanguard, however, I have many people in the pipeline that now want to be interviewed.  Keep the mail coming.  I will get to each and every one of you.  In the coming weeks I have Vanguard, WoW and Eve players all lined up and waiting.  Maybe when summer hits I can start recording two a week.  Who knows, only time will tell.

Many ramblings this week.  I am in Eve and LOTRO again.  I just love having a new Hard Drive.  My system seems to have picked up some pep and with that I am able to play my Windows games again.  But leave it to Apple.  Listen to the podcast to see why I am selling my 24" iMac that I use as my Gaming and Podcasting Rig.  If you want it, send me an email.

Email from a listener put me into a few days of thought as to where the podcast was going.  I initially wanted to interview real gamers as was stated in episode 1, however, recently I have been interviewing the podcast and blogging community.  For a few days I did have an issue where this was going, I have since decided that it is perfectly O.K. for me to make changes as needed in the format.  Listen to the discussion for my take.

Eve has been driving my addiction lately.  I was hired by a Corp called The Elear.  The move from 1.0 to 0.0 was trying, but I am now settled in and training up for a Battlecruiser so I can take on some Ratting sorties.  While training is boring at times, I have started a second account with a character that is set on making money.  Sooner or later she too will join the Elear, for now, she is my mission running and mining character

This weeks interview is with Lady Sinaea from Guildcast and Ringcast.  She was wonderful and has a very interesting take on gaming.  I can't say enough about her.  She definitely had much to say about the games she plays.  

Next up is Crovan from The Drone Bay podcast.  Yes it's Eve again.  But with a game as vast as Eve, everyone I talk to will give me a new point of view.

In RL I budget myself a certain dollar amount for fun and gaming.  That budget is placed into an account separate from my household bills account.  Well Peter made a big mistake.  Because the account floats about $125 a month it is always close to about $50.  I used the card in a gas station to fill up, I only had $75 in the account at the time, and put $37.50 in the gas tank.  Well, my account was hit for a charge of $37.50 and then a hold of $75 for ten days and the account went in the red.  Eve tried to pull the subscription fee and it failed.  So I am out of Eve for 7 more days, due to my promise of ONLY using this money and no more, for gaming and peripherals.  Be weary of gas stations that make use of this practice.  It seems wrong, but the bank says they do it all the time.

So it seems the loss of Eve was no big thing as this weeks big patch brought about some major down time.  I made use of the lost game time by getting a jump on editing this episode, which is why, I hope, it is early.

Shawn from the recently ended Guildcast and the now in full swing Tabulacast joined me.  We spoke much about gaming, but also about Podcasting and relationships (well kind of).   He was awesome to have on as I have been listening to Tabulacast for some time now.

Besides LOTRO I have been playing Everquest 2

I've found that I simply love that game and in rejoining the community I have Joined a Guild called Revelry and Honor.  That was thanks to Karen form EQual Perspectives.

  

The interview is long but very entertaining.  Charlie was great.  We were plagued by some audio issue that were caused by his mic but we made due.

A retraction for calling PVPers immature.  Not all are, only some.

I get schooled on features coming to Warhammer and say, WOW!!  I gotta play that game.

I found a character in my WoW account that I have not played for a bit this week.  She was a level 32 Draenei Hunter and is now a level 40 Hunter.  When I found here she was in Desolace  and let me tell you, it was desolate.  But something happened.  I found my way to Dustwallow Marsh and was shocked to find all sorts of new content.  Playing through the game again every now and then really does show you how dynamic an MMORPG really is.

An interview with David Perry from Crazy Kinux.  In the interview we find out why David loves Eve Online so much and even get some information on how to play the game. David was a great guest and it was a pleasure to have him on the podcast.

This episode proved to me that two a week is impossible.  I spent days on editing.  Between lag issues, interruptions from my family and some other anomalies I had about 90 minutes of audio to scrunch into 30 minutes.  David was a champ and I have to thank him for his patience.  Unlike last weeks issues with Garageband.  David suffered through some interruptions from my 11 year old daughter and her friend cheering in the background and my wife, who was just looking for some.... companionship.  Thanks David.

Topics of all kinds were touched in this interview.  Everything from Family and time management to looking towards new games in the future.

John was a real sport.  I used to use Skype and Audio Hijack Pro from Rouge Amoeba  but I had to reinstall Audio Hijack Pro and I lost my registration key.  So we hooked up with iChat and Garage band and found that 15 to 18 minutes and we would crash and have to restart the program and create a new file.  Can you say editing hell?  Anyhow, he was very patient and a prime reason for me going back on my word of leaving Tabula Rasa. I'm back in.   I really like it now after some pointers I got from Shawn and John's  Episode 11 of the Tabula Cast podcast.

I need emails.  I have about 5 people waiting in the wings for interviews.  More More More please!  After Johns interview I have the bug to hear more player stories.  Send those emails to peter@theaddictedgamer.com and put guest in the subject field.
