Sun, 4 May 2008 ![]() Sara Pickell
from Gax Online joined me for todays interview. She is incredibly
talented and also the quite the Artist. If you remember, it was Sara
that donated the Logo for the Podcast. Sara also has a blog where she
is unraveling the design of a new MMORPG called Shattered Worlds. Take a look at it! It seems to be a great idea waiting for someone to pick it up. Many ramblings this week. I am in Eve and LOTRO again.
I just love having a new Hard Drive. My system seems to have picked
up some pep and with that I am able to play my Windows games again.
But leave it to Apple. Listen to the podcast to see why I am selling
my 24" iMac that I use as my Gaming and Podcasting Rig. If you want
it, send me an email. Next week I have Karen on. She is an avid player of EQ2 and
has also played Vanguard until recently. You may remember her as the
cohost of Voyages of Vanguard and EQual Perspectives. By the time this
episode airs I will have my interview with Karen completed. Look
forward to it as I have for some time. Keep
the emails coming. I always welcome the feedback. And as always, if
you are looking to be a guest, just place the word guest in the subject
field of your email. Welcome Troy to the podcasting team of Virginworlds... Again. He has a new podcast called Travels with Troy. Head over to Virginworlds to check out this and many other podcasts in the Collective. Thank you all for downloading and listening. I'll talk to you all next week. Peter D'Angelo Comments[0] |
Wed, 23 April 2008 ![]() This episode I have the pleasure of sitting down and spending some time with Phillip from The Drone Bay.
We talk politics, history, Eve, WoW and all sorts of great topics.
The episode is God Awfully Long. Just bare with it they'll be a break
at about the mid way point. I am addicted to Eve now. Thank you David from Crazy Kinux and The Drone Bay. I now have 2 accounts and am getting quite good at mining. I'll talk more on this next week. I found a cool tool to use for Eve on my iPhone. It is called Evie. Got to the website and check it out. You'll find it at http://www.madoverlord.com Next week I hope to be choosing from Karen from Equal Perspectives and Voyages of Vanguard or Sara Pickel from Gax Online. Thank you for downloading the podcast. Remember to head out to Virginworlds to listen to all the other great podcasts in the Virginworlds Podcast Collective. Sun, 30 March 2008 ![]() We have a Sponsor. Robin has become the sponsor of The Addicted Gamer and also has become an elite member. Thank you Robin! Email
from a listener put me into a few days of thought as to where the
podcast was going. I initially wanted to interview real gamers as was
stated in episode 1, however, recently I have been interviewing the
podcast and blogging community. For a few days I did have an issue
where this was going, I have since decided that it is perfectly O.K.
for me to make changes as needed in the format. Listen to the
discussion for my take. Eve has been driving my addiction lately. I was hired by a Corp called The Elear.
The move from 1.0 to 0.0 was trying, but I am now settled in and
training up for a Battlecruiser so I can take on some Ratting sorties.
While training is boring at times, I have started a second account
with a character that is set on making money. Sooner or later she too
will join the Elear, for now, she is my mission running and mining
character This weeks interview is with Lady Sinaea from Guildcast and Ringcast.
She was wonderful and has a very interesting take on gaming. I can't
say enough about her. She definitely had much to say about the games
she plays. Next up is Crovan from The Drone Bay podcast. Yes it's Eve again. But with a game as vast as Eve, everyone I talk to will give me a new point of view. Thank you all for downloading and listening. It is always a pleasure to sit down and podcast for you. Visit virginworlds.com for more podcasts from the collective. Sat, 15 March 2008 ![]() Not a whole lot to say. Eve and LOTRO were my most played games this week. The Podcast has been cutting down on my game play time, but that is perfectly fine. In
RL I budget myself a certain dollar amount for fun and gaming. That
budget is placed into an account separate from my household bills
account. Well Peter made a big mistake. Because the account floats
about $125 a month it is always close to about $50. I used the card in
a gas station to fill up, I only had $75 in the account at the time,
and put $37.50 in the gas tank. Well, my account was hit for a charge
of $37.50 and then a hold of $75 for ten days and the account went in
the red. Eve tried to pull the subscription fee and it failed. So I
am out of Eve for 7 more days, due to my promise of ONLY using this
money and no more, for gaming and peripherals. Be weary of gas
stations that make use of this practice. It seems wrong, but the bank
says they do it all the time. So it seems the loss of Eve was no big thing as this weeks big patch brought
about some major down time. I made use of the lost game time by
getting a jump on editing this episode, which is why, I hope, it is
early. Shawn from the recently ended Guildcast and the now in full swing Tabulacast joined
me. We spoke much about gaming, but also about Podcasting and
relationships (well kind of). He was awesome to have on as I have
been listening to Tabulacast for some time now. Reader Email, None this week. Shawn and I spent over an hour and I wanted to keep it short. Next Week I have Lady Sinaea from Ringcast. Yes I am returning to a LOTRO player and also podcaster. But believe me, when the announcement at CODEX is made, this one will fit very well. BTW A very big thank you to the guys at The Drone Bay for
trying to help out and plug The Addicted Gamer. They realized when
talking about sponsors they received (four in all) that The Addicted
Gamer was the only podcast at Virginworlds without a sponsor. If you want to help out got to Virginworlds and click on the support tab in
the upper left part of the screen. Thanks Croven, Crazy Kinux and
Alsedrech, I really love what your doing over there with The Drone Bay. Thanks for downloading and listening. It's always a pleasure to podcast for you. Comments[0] |
Tue, 11 March 2008 ![]() This week has been exciting. I played about 8 hours total this week and split the time between Everquest 2, LOTRO and Even Online.
I find there to be less and less a desire to ever check in on WoW.
These three games are very engaging and satisfy a wide variety of my
gaming likes. Luke Gardiner from Eve Online (A
player) joins me this week. He is the youngest guest so far and has
shared his interest/passion for his game with me for over two hours.
We again had various issues with Skype which I am finding to be the norm now. Thank you for all the emails. Keep them coming. My email address is peter@theaddictedgamer.com. If you have any suggestion for background music send them in. They all need to be podsafe. No copyright issues. Thank you for downloading and listening to The Addicted Gamer Comments[0] |
Mon, 3 March 2008 ![]() Charlie from GAX Online's The One True Blog my third interview on my Podcast. He is an avid gamer and has the utmost passion for his favorite game, The Lord of the Rings Online. Besides LOTRO I have been playing Everquest 2 I've
found that I simply love that game and in rejoining the community I
have Joined a Guild called Revelry and Honor. That was thanks to Karen
form EQual Perspectives. The
interview is long but very entertaining. Charlie was great. We were
plagued by some audio issue that were caused by his mic but we made due. Emails
have been coming in and some are from people telling me there on line
gaming stories. I will be incorporating these into future podcasts.
Keep them coming. Remember my email is peter@theaddictedgamer.com. I
am looking to do a show dedicated to guilds, Player corps, or whatever
the game you play calls their guild system. If you are interested in
being on this show, send me an email. Next
week, we revisit Eve Online. My guest has been in contact with me
since my first podcast and is actually on of the listeners that has
contributed to the gallery at The Addicted Gamer Website. Thank you for downloading and listening to the podcast. ...And don't forget to visit the Virginworlds Website to find more MMORPG related podcasts. Comments[0] |
Tue, 26 February 2008 ![]() Thanks to John from Tabulacast for joining us last week. A retraction for calling PVPers immature. Not all are, only some. I get schooled on features coming to Warhammer and say, WOW!! I gotta play that game. I
found a character in my WoW account that I have not played for a bit
this week. She was a level 32 Draenei Hunter and is now a level 40
Hunter. When I found here she was in Desolace and let me tell you, it
was desolate. But something happened. I found my way to Dustwallow
Marsh and was shocked to find all sorts of new content. Playing
through the game again every now and then really does show you how
dynamic an MMORPG really is. An interview with David Perry from Crazy Kinux. In the interview we find out why David loves Eve Online so much and even get some information on how to play the game. David was a great guest and it was a pleasure to have him on the podcast. This
episode proved to me that two a week is impossible. I spent days on
editing. Between lag issues, interruptions from my family and some
other anomalies I had about 90 minutes of audio to scrunch into 30
minutes. David was a champ and I have to thank him for his patience.
Unlike last weeks issues with Garageband. David suffered through
some interruptions from my 11 year old daughter and her friend cheering
in the background and my wife, who was just looking for some....
companionship. Thanks David. Thank you for downloading and listening to the podcast. Reach me at peter [at] @theaddictedgamer.com Comments[0] |
Mon, 18 February 2008 ![]() Our First guest. John for the Tabula Blogger and Cohost of Tabula Cast has joined me for a 30 minute long interview. Topics
of all kinds were touched in this interview. Everything from Family
and time management to looking towards new games in the future. John was a real sport. I used to use Skype and Audio Hijack Pro from Rouge Amoeba but
I had to reinstall Audio Hijack Pro and I lost my registration key. So
we hooked up with iChat and Garage band and found that 15 to 18 minutes
and we would crash and have to restart the program and create a new
file. Can you say editing hell? Anyhow, he was very patient and a
prime reason for me going back on my word of leaving Tabula Rasa. I'm
back in. I really like it now after some pointers I got from Shawn
and John's Episode 11 of the Tabula Cast podcast. I
need emails. I have about 5 people waiting in the wings for
interviews. More More More please! After Johns interview I have the
bug to hear more player stories. Send those emails to peter@theaddictedgamer.com and put guest in the subject field. The gallery at The Addicted Gamer Website is
growing. Head over and take a look. Now that it has some more screen
shots in it, take the opportunity to add you own. Remember... Name the
image file with the caption you want to appear in the gallery. That's all. Thanks for Downloading and Listening. Hey!
Yo! Podcast collective members! You to can participate too. Troy
get some old Vanguard screenshots in the gallery? Karen, how about
some EQ2 screens? and Lady Sinaea, I can use some more LOTRO please.
Of course there is Winterblink and Urban Mongral, we can never have
enough screen from the gorgeous Eve online. Comments[0] |
Wed, 13 February 2008 ![]() Thanks for the introduction yet again from Brent. His call for guest have brought in a multitude of Email. Keep it coming. The
second part of the intro mentioned I know how to podcast on a mac.

Fri, 8 February 2008 A Great Time for Thought!I began the week with little play time but with a huge week at work and a wonderful week with my family. My TV was finally repaired and for that I was able to get the boys' Wii up and running again. All of this sparked me thinking and of course some credit has to go to Brenden for that at Another Here. The thought... "Why do I play so many MMOs?" Very Simply it is Routine vs. Organization. I discuss this more in depth in the podcast. The second thought is why has the MMO gotten bad press from the VERY few that are actually addicted? And is it the MMO that has them addicted or do they just have addictive personalities? In the segment I discuss how when Rock and Roll came out the listeners were looked at as if they were strange, posessed and that it would be their demise. Where is Rock and Roll now? I move into computer gaming and how it is an accepted activity in the household now. But MMO gaming is still looked at by many as a strange addictive activity that overweight ugly can't get a date people play... Not us! It is socially involved, fun and rewarding but still not our whole life. Please send in your comments to: peter [at] theaddictedgamer.com if you want to be interviewed then place the word guest in the subject of your email. Thanks for listening and downloading.
